The 23rd annual meeting of the Loma Topkie Property Owners' Association was held on Saturday, December 8, 2001, at the home of Gary Dorer.
Attending the meeting were:
Bob and Donna Berry
Gary Dorer
Betty Martin
LoRee Parker
Horacio Shakespear
John and Carole Sheffield
Geoff Welsh
A lovely dinner was prepared and served to us by Gary. We enjoyed it tremendously.
The business meeting was called to order by President Donna Berry at 5:15 p.m. The Secretary's minutes and Treasurer's report were read and approved.
Donna commented that Bob phoned the city about the pothole at the first island. They did some repairs, but not too satisfactory.
Mr. Shakespear said he and Betty Martin went to the city and spoke with Jeff Towne regarding the sewer hookups. He (Mr. Towne) said it was up to us to go ahead. We will need sketches of work to be approved by the city. There was a lengthy discussion as to whether the city would require that all lots be hooked up at the same time or if it can be done individually. Bob Berry made a motion, seconded by Geoff Welsh, that our association take no official action at this time. Discussion - motion passed. Gary Dorer indicated he planned to go to the city regarding individual hookups.
Donna Berry brought up the subject of association dues. Gary Dorer made a motion, seconded by LoRee Parker, to reduce association dues to $50 next year. Motion passed.
Gary Dorer was elected President for the coming year. Bob Berry will serve as Vice President, Donna Berry will continue as Treasurer, and Betty Martin as Secretary.
A replacement was needed for the architectural committee. Motion was made and seconded that LoRee Parker and Horacio Shakespear comprise this committee. Motion passed.
It was suggested the area around the "Loma Topkie" rock at our entrance be cleaned up. Gary Dorer recommended that a "beautification committee," consisting of volunteers, be formed to clean up and beautify our common area as needed. Geoff Welsh, Gary Dorer, John and Carole Sheffield, and LoRee Parker's wheelbarrow volunteered for this committee. It was agreed that any cost associated with this work would come from association funds subject to the approval of a majority of the members.
Bob Berry made a motion, seconded by Gary Dorer, that the meeting be closed (6:45 p.m.). Motion passed.
Respectfully submitted,
